Galeria MA

Image hosting by Photobucket

Now that detroit has said goodbye to the superbowl and its festivities, it will also have to part from some of its urban renewal progress as well. I believe that if Galeria MA would stay open - even in the raw form it is in - the downtown strip could slowly transform: other galleries/stores would pop up in the main downtown strip. If you don't believe me just look at Pittsburgh. They too had a shady downtown area - but with the help of some galleries and other development the downtown is coming alive.

Any word as why it has to close? is this space slated to become condos or lofts? Wonder what the lease would be on a space like this in this area? It would be a killer location with the compuware GM headquarters lunch crowd.
