more oases...
Lately or should I say since my sophomore year ancient art history class (thanks Beverly Smith) I have been obsessed with Egypt, Rome, Greece and just about any ancient civilization. There is something about learning about a culture through its art remnants and structures that puts in perspective our time on this planet. I hopefully have an amazing European adventure coming by the end of the year which I cannot begin to say how excited I will be to see some of history's greatest enduring landmarks. I also am addicted to any sort of history program which has inspired an escapist series of works that involve imaginary worlds formed by the objects found and some assembled at work.

I love these photos, Ann!
"ruling class" is really adorable.
I'm digging these.
i keep coming back to "ruling class" because it feels like a great punchline to a good joke. but I wish the titles o fall the peices were a bit more... clever? less simplistic to juxtapose themselves against the work itself. For instance "ruling class" is also described by the anthropology term "social stratification".
make prints of these, i would buy one.
