Davin Brainard brought some new ideas to art night with his live drawing and raffle! All the paintings were well priced and they were going like hotcakes! What's next...buy this painting...and get a free car? Well, we're probably not there yet but motor city keeps getting bigger and bigger. You know they are booked for a year!
These are the selected artists for the DAM Box Show:
Ian Swanson
Matt Lewis
Dylan Spaysky
Scott Northrup
Cooper Holoweski
Thanks to all who submitted - it was a tough call!
TATE MODERN has a really great website! While on my lunch break I was able to explore the rooms of the museum! You just click on a wing or a room and then a page of the artists' works comes up, where you can then click on any artist to see the image larger. I like this easy search because so many museums make their collections impossible to view. They also have a feature called "history" that you click on and can choose a time period on a timeline and a whole assortment of images from that year pop up.
Uli Aigner - Born 1965 in Austria, lives and works in Munich, Germany. I found this artist while looking at links from this ny site's list of top 10's for artists, galleries and shows. I enjoy the color patterns, finished vs. unfinished areas and disorienting compositions. They remind me of a looser version of philip pearlstein.
