davin brainard
Davin Brainard brought some new ideas to art night with his live drawing and raffle! All the paintings were well priced and they were going like hotcakes! What's next...buy this painting...and get a free car? Well, we're probably not there yet but motor city keeps getting bigger and bigger. You know they are booked for a year!

davin is brilliant.
lame.
that's awesome. I'm glad people are taking risks with these motor city shows. Not everything has to be serious with huge price tags.
Jef, could you elaborate on what you find brilliant about Davin's show?
i'm with tired and weary; what's so brilliant about kindergarten krap?
I wouldn't call it "kindergarten crap."
From my perspective I just don't exactly find the work engaging or the process of selling or giving away the work particularly "brilliant."
So that's why I would like to understand how someone else views it in case I'm missing something or don't know enough about his work.
When the artist David Hammons performed "Bliz-aard Ball Sales" and sold snow balls in Harlem after a blizzard years ago, that was brilliant. They sold out by the way.
dont like, but what do i know, im not the artist(wink)
I wouldn't call it brilliant. It's interesting though. Why not give paintings away? why do we have to take everything so seriously? It's just light hearted, unpretentious work.
"kindergarden crap" is better than half of the artists in the world could produce.
Nice job Davin, sorry I missed the show. Davin’s delightful work has a childlike playfulness, simplicity and honesty. His fun, iconic subjects, seductive candy colors and slick craft make for some pretty desirable stuff. No wonder they were selling like hotcakes.

only a reetarded would look at davins work as "kiddiegarden krap" .
if you would pay attention you would see most of it is either dirty or violent or abstract joke that you dont understand.
maybe you are stupid idiots on detroit?
no ?
in other country this artist is almost famous.
not for kidz or elderly.
yes brilliant.
Silly me for not being able to comprehend the abstract!
