In this age of electronic imagery I wonder why there is still a call for slides for submission. I understand the ease of dropping a slide into a carrousel for review and also then using this image for print but there is also ways of doing this with technology.

Asking for slides eliminates 89% of the fucktards out there who think they can whip up a cd full of their best crying clown paintings and send it off.
I don’t have a problem with slides, I love them. It forces artists to go the extra step and learn about properly photographing and documenting their works.
well..I'm a lazy funktard. So I say funktard slides.
someday I hope to paint a world renowned crying clown painting to be copied and hung in physicians offices everywhere. It will be great...until then I'll have to stick to my sub par crying clown paintings.
A person can whip up a collection of equally poor slides of crying clowns with a 35mm camera and think he's done something wonderful.
The same knowledge of a camera, proper lighting and documentation applies to the digital and film worlds.
Well that would be the other 11% of the fucktards.

some venues seem to be switching over and I think eventually everyone will keep on and finally let go of the out-dated slide.
