money makes the world go around

So this is why CCS is looking so sexy lately:

"In one of the largest gifts ever given to a U.S. private arts college, the College for Creative Studies is the beneficiary of a $50 million bequest from the late Josephine Ford."

I'm not quite sure what that means. Do you disapprove of their donation to the Natural Resources Defense Council?

You'd think that with all that money, they'd give better scholarships to the people that deserve them, instead of blindly giving them to freshman that aren't as motivated. They should start offering scholarship awards.

john, maybe you should talk to your department administration or your advisor because there are scholarships available to non-freshman. every year, each department chooses a sophomore or junior to receive a one year scholarship based on your portfolio at ccs to date as well as academic standing, campus involvement, etc. forgive me because i dont' remember the amount of the scholarship but check into it. i went to your blog and forgive me if i'm wrong but i believe you are fine arts. talk with maria prainito or zdzislaw sikora. there may be more available than your realize.

I agree, the scholarships are out there. I'd like to see CCS expand their class schedule to include evening classes. I think by doing that it would help eliminate the bitterness between students whose mommy's and daddy's pay for everything and those that had to quit ccs because they would have had to quit their day job to continue.
