more from chicago...
I hope everyone isn't sick of chicago art pictures yet...because here come some more!
This exhibit was at the UIC- Gallery 400, the student gallery. It is a show where artists set up in small spaces on day 1, have an opening on day 2, and then tear down on day 3.
This is the FAKE dumpster outside UIC. It is carved out of wood! Yes, wood...no metal there! The artist is Conrad Bakker.
This the big gallery district area. And guess what is right by all the galleries?....OPRAH! Yes, the Harpo Studio is right in the gallery district...and it seemed to be "gift give-away day" because lots of people leaving the studio had wicker baskets and bags labeled "oprah's favorite things"! Man, I really missed out!
I love galleries that look like this! What gorgeous architecture!
This little art meeting area was on the top floor of an artist studio building/gallery. It was a pretty nondescript building that had a more intimate 555 feel. I loved the feel of this room. (Not shown: big shag white rug and other contemporary outfittings..very sexy!)
This was at the Kavi Gupta Gallery. The artist was Clare Rojas...check her out. I bought a print of hers- the proceeds went to domestic violence shelter. The print I bought was a naked french man sitting with his legs open...very cute.
more pics from galleries.....
This was an actual fountain of water running in the wall! I want that!!
Yippee! Art is fun!
