beginning a collection: in LA?

                      

How do you start collecting art?  I think, like everything else, all it takes is doing it the first time and then before you know it you will be a collector.  Collect what you like. Collect because of your faith in an artist.  Collect to support the arts - starting at the root: an artist.  Collect because you want to be surrounded by art in your environment.  Collect because you consider art as an investment. And for whatever reason don't ever think you can't collect.  One can start a collection at any price point. In fact there are a few up-and-coming artists that I would love to invest in! I know this article is based in LA but the same principles can apply here about the different levels of collecting.
