Mrs dFUNK and myself gave the 2005 CCS student show a resoundingly weak "2 out of 10" rating for both presentation and strength of student work. Where were the freakin sculptures ? NO figurative sculpture ? The printmaking section was shockingly poor.
Dont get me wrong, there were brilliant flashes throughout the show - but over all it was very lame. No cool furniture - and the stuff they had out was poorly constructed.
Also the prices for artwork were depressingly low within the fineart department. Its like nobodys talking to these kids at all - nobody is driving the bus over there.
The fact that nobody works the show in the hallways is a very wrong way of going about things. Traditionally they hire folks to watch over the art and to collect info for sales. Now if a guest wants to purchase work, they have to find their way down to the guard shack to tell them what they want. Yeeeeah.
And nobody is protecting anything from ignorant hands. Scrazy!
