I am not sure if the main opening is sept 15 or if it was last saturday, but I decided not to post every image I took and instead a few teaser pics of the show. The main opening will include london artist stella vine so it is definitely worth the trip to pontiac in sept. Below are some of dick goody's drawings or preliminary sketches before his paintings. And I included some shots of my show "Parts" as well.

Good show Ann! I loved the new work. I think this works as opposed to the work you showed at Motor City has better surface quality to me. The acrylic could pass for oils from a distance which is good. I've always thought I would like your work better if it was done in oils, but then again I'm just partial to anything done in oil over acrylic. I really like where you're going with the animal parts.
Dick Goody's work I liked, though I thought it was just too blatantly sexual for me. I felt like I was looking at porn with some of those drawings and with the paintings...and I didn't like that. I like the style I just don't appreciate the content. But then again, I don't watch porn. I guess if you're into that sort of thing...
I liked the randomness of the sketches though. I kinda wished that they were different in size. Every sketch was on the same sized paper and took up about the same amount of the page. But a lot of them were humorous which I always appreciate.

dick goody's drawings and paintings were sexist clap-trap. i don't see anything redeeming about the text. it acts like the narrative of a sex-slave. wha'ts the point. this guy just needs to get laid and get over his fantasy life.
althought the painting itself was bootyful.
