cool images but poor presentation. binder-clips and unframed prints are not very appealing. art that is for sale needs to be ready to hang in the buyers home or else the buyer has to do the framing on their own and they usually dont so the piece never gets hung or they do it with a pushpin or just hang it on the refregerator with a magnet and it ends up getting food on it. i know that it can be expensive but it doesnt have to be there are also economical solutions that can be very cool too. good presentation is every bit as important as the image itself but thats just what i think and i guess that you dont think so and thats ok too.
given the really casual atmosphere at these wednesday night happenings, i don't know if i'd go so far as to say everything needs to be framed and whatnot, but it would be nice if presentation or portability (should the work be purshased) was taken into account at least a little. maybe binder clip them to some board so they at least lay flat?
i enjoyed these.. i got the sense that i should have been disgusted by these disturbed, warty, tumorous, (horny?), aborted beings, but they were just so darned cute and playful- not to mention excellently drawn and colored- that i could hardly stop myself from fallin' in love with them. as for the previous "poor presentation" remarks, eh so what. it's a 1-nite brewery show~ buyers can spend an extra $10 at utrecht and frame it themselves. great stuff~ <3 taurus~

You: dark hair with a piece of blonde on the side, pink hearts on your shirt, tattoos (three stars on your back and a bird on your arm and some others), adorable. hanging out with your friend at the bar, then moved over by the art exhibit talking with the artists girlfriend.
Me: loser still wearing his work shirt who doesn't have the nerve to just go talk to a girl in public, even after two beers.
I thought I saw you looking back at me the multiple times I found myself looking at you, but, you know, there's always that voice in the back of your head saying "no, she couldn't have been looking at you, just a coincidence". So, if the fact that I've completely chickened out and posted an ad on here looking for you hasn't turned you completely off, let me know. I'm way less of a creep once I get past the awkward introduction.

That is not the way I would like to stumble across a missed connection.
Well for you: dark hair with a piece of blonde on the side, pink hearts on your shirt, tattoos (three stars on your back and a bird on your arm and some others)
Be glad that I have noticed you in so much detail, for the awkward introduction will be a memorable one.
So I thought the show was great and I liked how the work was unframed. It fit the atmosphere.
I don't know if anyone is still even checking this, and I am a little embarassed to say that I am the girl with the tattoos and stuff. That message was cute and awkward since this is suposed to be about the show and not trying to hook up or whatever. I don't really know how you would want me to contact you, but I wanted to let you know I read the message and was flattered.

I like what you call "poor presentation"! To each their own.
remember this is a brewery
Fuck your frame, the work stands alone.

the minute things start getting "precious" is when the brewery shows become just another white box gallery.
i like the unframed, rough, curlyedged immediacy of the shows.
Were these prints or originals?

chris pottinger is totally fucking sweet and im mad i forgot about this show. thank god it was only one night.
that anonymous person talking about poor presentation is a damn idiot.
Me: tattoo girls friend
You: ?
Me: thinking this is totally weird
besides, this is about chris pottinger at motor city, not a way for you to awkwardly pick up chicks
by the way...nice job chris!!!
