Kristen Morgin

At first glance, these works look like they are straight out of detroit junk yards and are wonderful examples of re-constructed found objects. However these objects are not found but all constructed by hand with materials such as wood, unfired clay, paint, and wire. The artist isn't from detroit either but LA. Kristen Morgin, a ceramic teacher at Cal State, is getting much more recognition and praise since her show at the Hammer last year. I remember seeing that show - it was great...also it was right after I got back from LA that I started the blog up!

I remember joe wesner say that "if we constructed a model-t of sheet metal and put it out to rust in the ccs courtyard there would be a lot of people interested here" ala 1997.
