chicago west loop galleries: part I

I often forget that chicago has a great batch of galleries located in the west loop art district. My favorite pieces of the trip were found here including the fan piece at Carrie Secrist, the Peter Halley and a few more to come.

Rhona Hoffman Gallery Commemorating 30 Years (above and below)

This piece by Peter Halley, "Red Prison" - acrylic, day-glo and roll-a-tex on canvas, was so bright it almost hurt your eyes. My camera unfortunately couldn't capture the insane brightness!

From China With Love, Gao Brothers @ Walsh Gallery (above and below)

Looking out on chicago from galleries...

...and what do I spot but something that looks familiar from MONA!

These Bernard Williams pasted posters were awesome on the streets!
