miami is HOT!
And I am talking about the art scene here! I was blown away with what I saw today from the biggest family (Rubell) collection of contemporary art I have ever seen, moca and moca warehouse project space - which I spoke to the director and she had a lot of helpful insight that might come in handy with mocad's development, and a whole bunch of other galleries that appeared out of nowhere in a deserted warehouse part of run down town. Seriously, the galleries were like desert mirages! You know the arts here are doing very well when you see mercedes, volvos and expensive cars parked outside the galleries. I just put a few teaser pics for now and I will have more extensive posts when I get home. As for me, tomorrow will be just spent on the beach!

kara walker...gilbert and george...jeff koons...oh, and that doesn't even begin to sum up the collection!

Very cool ... will check this out ... I'm ten minutes from south beach ..
Art Miami 2007 marks the 17th edition of this much anticipated, world class event. The 2006 fair – home to 130 galleries from 27 countries – welcomed increased attendance of 24,000 visitors, and many walked away with important and valuable purchases.
Ann,
Thanks for the teaser photos. Miami is amazing!!!! All around really. Which is great for Florida, because the rest of it...well as Homer Simpson once said, is "America's wang."
sorry
Did anyone hear what happened as Art Chicago? The organizers (two people mainly) dropped the ball, and the whole thing was moved last minute to the Merchandise Mart and opened late...to those who don't know the MM is basically Americas most beautiful 'castle mall'. Is this better than a tent show?...the point is those organizers will never work again, and Art Chicago was not the same...
Safe travels Ann
What a fucking brilliant Jeff Koons!!!
nolan, that's a mother fucking oxymoron.
