Gallery anyone???
Anyone interested in starting a gallery?
Cheap rent in great location! There are two units for rent in Ferndale that could serve as a gallery space. It is zoned to be a gallery...I have been pondering the notion lately and even found a possible partial backer. Check out space 1 $400/month and 2 $600/month. Any ideas or comments??? Would I be crazy to.......

ann,
$400 is the cost of renting a studio.
that was our rent 10 years ago.
go for it.

yeah Ann, what he said -
go for it.....
i'll cover it.
DO IT!
That would be rad. $400 is nothing.
Start a gallery so I can show there. This is the perfect sapce for an installation I am working on...still venueless.
It's a great price. You might want to think out a full budget though - utilities, printing, signage, staffing if you're not going to cover it all yourself, openings, marketing/advertising.
I was a partner in an artist-owned gallery for a number of years. I loved it, it was great and it took a HUGE amount of time and always cost more.
that said, either of those rents are dirt cheap - I hope you do it!
I'm internship hunting, fa-la-la-la-laaaa la-la, la la.
I love reading your blog. If you were to open a gallery, I'd be happy to be a "grunt" for you.
Currently, I am a humanities major with gallery, museum, graphic design (freelance) and non-profit space art direction work/volunteer experience.
Make sure there aren't any sticky strings attached to that cheap lease (like termites or no working HVAC). That's right on Woodward, isn't it??
Cheers, and happy entrepreneuring!
Hello everyone...keep the encouragement up! I am moving into a house in ferndale this week but I hope to look into the gallery next week when I am not so crazy busy!
